CEA TECH is a major player in innovation in France and worldwide, with the mission of producing and transferring innovative technologies to industry to ensure its competitiveness. Initially focused on nuclear energy, the CEA has diversified considerably to become a key player in the fields of :
- Micro and nanotechnologies
- New technologies for energy and mobility
- Intelligent digital systems and robotics
-New technologies for information and communication

CEA TECH Grand Est has been identified by the government as a major R&D partner to support an innovative organizational model for companies in the region. To this end, CEA TECH operates platforms dedicated to the technologies of the Factory of the Future.

The MAPP platform (Mechatronics for Advanced Products and Processes), located at CEA TECH Grand Est in Metz, aims to promote the penetration of digital technologies in the Factory.

The technologies developed for tool instrumentation (enhanced performance), tooling (process control and monitoring), and high value-added parts (new functionalities and remote maintenance), leverage on collective intelligence in mechanical design, electronic design and data science, for the development of expert systems: sensor nodes, collector nodes, telecommunications, data fusion and processing, data storage, decision making based on artificial intelligence.

Topological optimization enabled by additive manufacturing, a technological hallmark of the MAPP platform, also offers a breakthrough solution for the integration of components in terms of performance and packaging in harsh industrial environments (temperature, humidity, vibration, dust, etc.). To this end, the MAPP Mechatronics Platform has all the resources and skills in modeling, simulation, and environmental testing, as well as in mechanical and electronic characterization, to ensure high-performance and reliable design of mechatronic systems on the projects entrusted to it.
